Overview
Taiga is a cold biome that generates in the Overworld. Its base temperature of 0.25 places it in the cold band, which controls whether water freezes, whether it rains or snows, and which passive mobs are allowed to spawn there.
Weather reaches Taiga: it rains during storms, so crops grow and cauldrons fill on their own.
3 generated structures can appear here, among them Village, Pillager Outpost, Trail Ruins.
3 mobs name Taiga specifically among their spawn biomes.

Structures found here
- Village — Villages generate in five architectural variants — plains, desert, savanna, taiga and snowy — each built from local materials with its own house shapes, and the variant is fixed by the biome of the village centre even if it sprawls across a border.
- Pillager Outpost — A dark oak watchtower flying an ominous banner, surrounded by tents, log piles, and often a cage holding an iron golem or, beneath the tower, cages containing allays.
- Trail Ruins — A buried settlement of terracotta, mud bricks and stripped logs, almost entirely underground, so it is easy to walk over one without noticing.
