Overview
Pink Glazed Terracotta is one of the 16 variants of White Glazed Terracotta: same recipe, same hardness, same drops — only the look differs. The full write-up for the set is on the White Glazed Terracotta page.
In Minecraft 1.21.4, Pink Glazed Terracotta is a coloured block. Its hardness of 1.4 makes it a normal, unhurried block to mine. Anything below a wooden pickaxe breaks it without leaving a drop.
It drops as the same block you mined. With a blast resistance of only 1.4 it will not survive an explosion. Sixty-four fit in one inventory slot.
Put Pink Terracotta in a furnace and this is what comes out. It is not used in any crafting recipe.
About the pink set
How long it takes to break
Hardness 1.4 puts Pink Glazed Terracotta at 7 seconds a block bare-handed, or 0.25 seconds with the right tool at netherite tier.
Iron takes 0.35 seconds against diamond's 0.3, so the upgrade worth making for this block is the one to iron.
The block still breaks with a weaker tool, but below wooden it yields nothing at all — the time is spent and the drop is lost, which is the single most common way players waste a vein.
The Efficiency formula is level² + 1 added to tool speed — at V that is about 2.5 times the unenchanted rate.
| Tool | No enchantment | Efficiency III | Efficiency V |
|---|---|---|---|
| Hand * | 7 s | 7 s | 7 s |
| Wooden | 1.1 s | 0.2 s | 0.1 s |
| Stone | 0.55 s | 0.15 s | 0.1 s |
| Iron | 0.35 s | 0.15 s | 0.1 s |
| Diamond | 0.3 s | 0.15 s | 0.1 s |
| Netherite | 0.25 s | 0.15 s | 0.1 s |
| Golden | 0.2 s | 0.1 s | 0.1 s |
Properties
Blast resistance on Pink Glazed Terracotta is 1.4, so any explosion nearby takes it out. It stops light entirely and gives off no light. Stack size is 64 — the standard full stack. The fastest tool for it is a pickaxe; any other kind of tool mines it no faster than a bare hand does, because the speed bonus only applies to the tool class the block is tagged for.
