In Minecraft 1.21.4, Blue Glazed Terracotta is a coloured block. At a hardness of 1.4 it takes a moment to break but never slows a build down. It needs at least a wooden pickaxe to drop anything; a weaker tool destroys it for nothing.

Mining it returns the block itself, so it is safe to relocate. A blast resistance of 1.4 means a single creeper will clear it away. It stacks to 64.

A furnace turns Blue Terracotta into it. No recipe takes it as an ingredient.

Blue Glazed Terracotta has a hardness of 1.4. By hand that is 7 seconds per block; with the correct tool at netherite tier it is 0.25 seconds.

You are looking at 0.35 seconds on iron and 0.3 on diamond — the iron step is where the time actually falls.

A weaker tool still breaks it, but anything under wooden returns nothing — you spend the time and lose the drop, which is how most veins get wasted.

Each Efficiency level adds level² + 1 to the tool's speed, so a level V tool clears this about 2.5 times faster than an unenchanted one.

Properties

Blast resistance on Blue Glazed Terracotta is 1.4, so any explosion nearby takes it out. It stops light entirely and gives off no light. One inventory slot holds 64, the normal full stack. A pickaxe is the fastest choice here. A tool of the wrong class is no better than your fist — the speed bonus is tied to the block's own tool tag.
