Overview
Cyan Glazed Terracotta is one of the 16 variants of White Glazed Terracotta: same recipe, same hardness, same drops — only the look differs. The full write-up for the set is on the White Glazed Terracotta page.
In Minecraft 1.21.4, Cyan Glazed Terracotta is a coloured block. At a hardness of 1.4 it takes a moment to break but never slows a build down. It needs at least a wooden pickaxe to drop anything; a weaker tool destroys it for nothing.
Mining it returns the block itself, so it is safe to relocate. A blast resistance of 1.4 means a single creeper will clear it away. It stacks to 64.
A furnace turns Cyan Terracotta into it. No recipe takes it as an ingredient.
About the cyan set
How long it takes to break
Hardness 1.4 puts Cyan Glazed Terracotta at 7 seconds a block bare-handed, or 0.25 seconds with the right tool at netherite tier.
Iron manages 0.35 seconds and diamond 0.3, which makes iron the tier that changes how this block feels.
Below wooden the block breaks and simply vanishes. Bring the right tier or leave it in the ground.
The Efficiency formula is level² + 1 added to tool speed — at V that is about 2.5 times the unenchanted rate.
| Tool | No enchantment | Efficiency III | Efficiency V |
|---|---|---|---|
| Hand * | 7 s | 7 s | 7 s |
| Wooden | 1.1 s | 0.2 s | 0.1 s |
| Stone | 0.55 s | 0.15 s | 0.1 s |
| Iron | 0.35 s | 0.15 s | 0.1 s |
| Diamond | 0.3 s | 0.15 s | 0.1 s |
| Netherite | 0.25 s | 0.15 s | 0.1 s |
| Golden | 0.2 s | 0.1 s | 0.1 s |
Properties
Cyan Glazed Terracotta resists blasts at 1.4, which is not enough to survive anything explosive nearby. Light does not pass through it, and it emits none of its own. A single slot takes 64, the usual full stack. A pickaxe is fastest here; any other class mines it at bare-hand speed, because the bonus only applies to the class the block is tagged for.
