Overview

Lime Glazed Terracotta is one of the 16 variants of White Glazed Terracotta: same recipe, same hardness, same drops — only the look differs. The full write-up for the set is on the White Glazed Terracotta page.

Lime Glazed Terracotta counts as a coloured block in Minecraft 1.21.4. At a hardness of 1.4 it takes a moment to break but never slows a build down. It needs at least a wooden pickaxe to drop anything; a weaker tool destroys it for nothing.

Mining it returns the block itself, so it is safe to relocate. A blast resistance of 1.4 means a single creeper will clear it away. It stacks to 64.

A furnace turns Lime Terracotta into it. No recipe takes it as an ingredient.

About the lime set

How long it takes to break

At a hardness of 1.4, Lime Glazed Terracotta takes 7 seconds to punch out and 0.25 seconds with a netherite-tier tool of the correct class.

You are looking at 0.35 seconds on iron and 0.3 on diamond — the iron step is where the time actually falls.

A weaker tool still breaks it, but anything under wooden returns nothing — you spend the time and lose the drop, which is how most veins get wasted.

The Efficiency formula is level² + 1 added to tool speed — at V that is about 2.5 times the unenchanted rate.

Properties

Lime Glazed Terracotta resists blasts at 1.4, which is not enough to survive anything explosive nearby. Light does not pass through it, and it emits none of its own. One inventory slot holds 64, the normal full stack. The block is tagged for pickaxes, and only that class gets the speed bonus; everything else mines at bare-hand rate.
