Overview

White Banner — wall-mounted is a coloured block in Minecraft Java Edition 1.21.4. It cannot be obtained in Survival — it exists for Creative mode and commands. Hardness 1 puts it in the middle of the pack for mining speed.

No specific tool is required to collect it. Instead of dropping itself it yields White Banner. Because it is transparent it does not block light.

A blast resistance of 1 means a single creeper will clear it away. It is not used in any crafting recipe.

White Banner — wall-mounted sits at hardness 1: 1.5 seconds per block with your fists, 0.2 with the correct netherite tool.

You are looking at 0.25 seconds on iron and 0.2 on diamond — the iron step is where the time actually falls.

Properties

Blast resistance on White Banner — wall-mounted is 1, so any explosion nearby takes it out. It lets light pass and gives off no light. Fire takes to it quickly — encouragement 60, burn 20 — which makes it a poor neighbour for lava or a lit campfire. An axe is fastest here; any other class mines it at bare-hand speed, because the bonus only applies to the class the block is tagged for. Broken normally it drops White Banner rather than itself; Silk Touch is what returns the block, and Fortune raises the ordinary drop instead.
