Overview

Magenta Banner — wall-mounted is one of the 16 variants of White Banner — wall-mounted: same recipe, same hardness, same drops — only the look differs. The full write-up for the set is on the White Banner — wall-mounted page.

Magenta Banner — wall-mounted counts as a coloured block in Minecraft 1.21.4. This is a Creative-mode block; Survival players will never hold one. Its hardness of 1 makes it a normal, unhurried block to mine.

You can break it by hand without losing the drop. Breaking it produces Magenta Banner. Light passes through it, so it will not darken the space behind it.

It offers almost no protection from explosions (1 blast resistance). No recipe takes it as an ingredient.

About the magenta set

How long it takes to break

Magenta Banner — wall-mounted sits at hardness 1: 1.5 seconds per block with your fists, 0.2 with the correct netherite tool.

An iron tool takes 0.25 seconds and a diamond one 0.2, so the jump that actually matters for this block is the one to iron.

No particular tool tier is required: any tool, or none at all, still yields the drop, so the table below is about speed rather than about whether you get anything.

The Efficiency formula is level² + 1 added to tool speed — at V that is about 4 times the unenchanted rate.

Properties

Magenta Banner — wall-mounted resists blasts at 1, which is not enough to survive anything explosive nearby. Light passes through it, and it emits none of its own. Fire takes to it quickly — encouragement 60, burn 20 — which makes it a poor neighbour for lava or a lit campfire. The fastest tool for it is an axe; any other kind of tool mines it no faster than a bare hand does, because the speed bonus only applies to the tool class the block is tagged for. Broken normally it drops Magenta Banner rather than itself; Silk Touch is what returns the block, and Fortune raises the ordinary drop instead.
