Overview
The jungle pyramid is the only structure Mojang built around a redstone puzzle, and the puzzle is optional. Three levers on the lower floor open a sticky piston door onto a chest when flipped in the right order, the order differs per temple, and there are only eight combinations to work through — but a pickaxe through the wall beside the piston reaches the same chest in ten seconds. The real hazard is upstairs and along the corridors: two tripwires strung at ankle height are wired to dispensers loaded with arrows, and walking one of them at full sprint while a cave spider is already on you is how most visits end badly. Cut tripwire string with shears rather than a sword, because shears sever it without triggering the dispenser, and the string is yours to keep. Strip the temple afterwards: the dispensers, the sticky pistons, the redstone repeaters and the levers all mine out intact, and for a player who has not yet found their first redstone ore, a jungle pyramid is a complete starter kit for automation. The mossy cobblestone shell is worth hauling home too, since moss otherwise means a lush cave trip.

How to get it
Jungle pyramids are rare and generate only in jungle, bamboo jungle and sparse jungle biomes, buried under canopy that hides them completely from above. Flying at roughly 3 blocks above the treetops with an Elytra, or simply following the ground, works better than looking down.
Tips
- Cut the tripwire string with shears, not a sword: shears remove it silently and you keep the string for your own traps.
- Skip the lever puzzle entirely by breaking the mossy cobblestone beside the sticky piston door and stepping through the gap.
- Mine the dispensers and pistons before you leave — they are the cheapest redstone you will find before your first deepslate trip.
- Jungles are dark under the canopy and cave spiders wander in, so light the temple interior before you start dismantling it.
Version notes
Added in 1.3.1 with the desert pyramid. Unlike its desert counterpart it received no archaeology content in 1.20, so it holds no suspicious sand or gravel.
Properties
It generates in the Overworld, which is the only dimension with a day-night cycle and weather, and the one every distance in the game is measured against. In a world with cheats on, /locate structure minecraft:jungle_pyramid gives the coordinates of the nearest one. Without cheats, an explorer map from a cartographer villager is the reliable route for the structures that have one; everything else is exploration.

Where it generates
Jungle Pyramid generates in 3 biomes: Jungle, Bamboo Jungle, and Sparse Jungle. Outside those it will not generate at all, however far you travel.

Its loot includes Diamond, Emerald, Gold Ingot, Iron Ingot, Saddle, Enchanted Book, and Dispenser. These are the notable entries rather than the full loot table — the common filler (bread, coal, iron nuggets) is omitted, and in some structures the best of it comes from a vault or a spawner rather than a chest.

Ocelot, Parrot, and Panda generate here. Several of them spawn nowhere else, which is usually the reason to make the trip.
