Overview
Purple Concrete is one of the 16 variants of White Concrete: same recipe, same hardness, same drops — only the look differs. The full write-up for the set is on the White Concrete page.
Minecraft classifies Purple Concrete as a coloured block. There is no way to craft it; you have to find it and mine it. Its hardness of 1.8 makes it a normal, unhurried block to mine.
Anything below a wooden pickaxe breaks it without leaving a drop. It drops as the same block you mined. With a blast resistance of only 1.8 it will not survive an explosion.
Sixty-four fit in one inventory slot. No recipe takes it as an ingredient.
About the purple set
How long it takes to break
At a hardness of 1.8, Purple Concrete takes 9 seconds to punch out and 0.3 seconds with a netherite-tier tool of the correct class.
Iron manages 0.45 seconds and diamond 0.35, which makes iron the tier that changes how this block feels.
The block still breaks with a weaker tool, but below wooden it yields nothing at all — the time is spent and the drop is lost, which is the single most common way players waste a vein.
The Efficiency formula is level² + 1 added to tool speed — at V that is about 3 times the unenchanted rate.
| Tool | No enchantment | Efficiency III | Efficiency V |
|---|---|---|---|
| Hand * | 9 s | 9 s | 9 s |
| Wooden | 1.4 s | 0.25 s | 0.1 s |
| Stone | 0.7 s | 0.2 s | 0.1 s |
| Iron | 0.45 s | 0.2 s | 0.1 s |
| Diamond | 0.35 s | 0.15 s | 0.1 s |
| Netherite | 0.3 s | 0.15 s | 0.1 s |
| Golden | 0.25 s | 0.15 s | 0.1 s |
Properties
With 1.8 blast resistance Purple Concrete goes down to any nearby explosion. It is fully opaque and produces no light. One inventory slot holds 64, the normal full stack. A pickaxe is the fastest choice here. A tool of the wrong class is no better than your fist — the speed bonus is tied to the block's own tool tag.
