Overview
A calibrated sculk sensor is the filtered version of the ordinary sensor, and it solves the problem that makes plain sculk sensors frustrating in a busy base: an ordinary sensor fires for every vibration nearby, so a door opening, your own footsteps and a nearby cow all trigger the same circuit. The calibrated version has a dedicated redstone input on its back. Feed it a signal of a specific strength and it will only respond to vibrations whose frequency matches that number — 1 for a step, 2 for a landing after a fall, and so on up to 15 — and ignores everything else completely. It also has a wider detection range than the standard sensor. That turns a sensor from a rough motion detector into a precise switch: a door that opens only when a chest is opened, an alarm that fires only when a block is broken, a farm that responds only to an item hitting the floor. It is crafted rather than generated, so unlike the plain sensor there is no need to visit the deep dark for one beyond the sensor itself.
Vibration detection that only responds to one chosen event type, which makes wireless redstone reliable inside a base where dozens of unrelated vibrations happen all the time.
Calibrated Sculk Sensor counts as a stone-family block in Minecraft 1.21.4. Calibrated Sculk Sensor has a crafting recipe, so it is renewable as long as you can source its ingredients. At a hardness of 1.5 it takes a moment to break but never slows a build down.
It gives off a dim light level 1, enough to see by but not to stop mobs spawning. It offers almost no protection from explosions (1.5 blast resistance). A full stack holds 64.
It is crafted from Amethyst Shard and Sculk Sensor. Nothing on the crafting grid is made from it.
How to get it
Craft it from 1 sculk sensor and 3 amethyst shards. The sensor itself is either crafted from a catalyst and 8 shards or collected from the deep dark with Silk Touch, so plan around 1 geode trip.
Tips
- Feed the back input a signal of exactly the frequency you want; anything else and the sensor ignores every vibration.
- Frequency 1 is walking and 2 is landing from a fall, so a fall detector is 2 blocks of redstone and nothing else.
- Its range is larger than the plain sensor's, which matters when the trigger is across a room.
- Wool still blocks it completely, so line the floor if you want a corridor the sensor cannot hear.

The calibrated sculk sensor was added in 1.20 (Trails & Tales) and is unchanged in 1.21.4.
How long it takes to break
Hardness 1.5 puts Calibrated Sculk Sensor at 2.3 seconds a block bare-handed, or 0.25 seconds with the right tool at netherite tier.
An iron tool takes 0.4 seconds and a diamond one 0.3, so the jump that actually matters for this block is the one to diamond.
Nothing here needs a minimum tier: whatever you swing, the block still drops, and the only difference is how long it takes.
Efficiency adds its level squared plus one to the tool speed, so Efficiency V is about 2.5 times faster than the same tool unenchanted.

Properties
With 1.5 blast resistance Calibrated Sculk Sensor goes down to any nearby explosion. It is fully opaque and glows at light level 1. A single slot takes 64, the usual full stack. The fastest tool for it is a hoe; any other kind of tool mines it no faster than a bare hand does, because the speed bonus only applies to the tool class the block is tagged for.
