Overview
A Mooshroom turns an empty bowl into an infinite food supply, which is more than any other animal in the game manages. Use a bowl on one and you get mushroom stew, restoring 6 hunger, with no cooldown, no crafting and no cost — the animal is not consumed and can be milked for stew again immediately. That alone makes a pair of them worth transporting home. Shear one instead and it drops 5 mushrooms and permanently reverts into an ordinary Cow, so shearing is a one-way trade of the stew supply for a mushroom farm starter. The brown variant is the interesting one. Strike a red Mooshroom with lightning and it turns brown; feed a brown Mooshroom any small flower and use a bowl, and it gives a suspicious stew carrying that flower's status effect — the only renewable source of effect stews. It has 10 health and behaves exactly like a cow otherwise, breeding on wheat and dropping beef and leather. They spawn only on mycelium in mushroom fields, one of the rarest biomes in Minecraft, and no hostile mob spawns naturally in that biome at all.

How it behaves
The Mooshroom never attacks. The only reason to be careful around one is that killing it is often not what you want: breeding it is worth more than the drop.
