Overview
Magma Cream brews the Potion of Fire Resistance, which is the most important defensive potion in the game and the reason any Nether trip goes well. Eight minutes of complete immunity to fire, lava and blaze fireballs turns the Nether from a place you creep through into a place you work in, and it is what makes ancient debris mining, blaze farming and bastion looting practical. There are two ways to get the cream. Magma cubes drop it directly — 0 to 1 per kill from the medium and large sizes, and they spawn in basalt deltas and nether wastes in quantity — or you craft it from a blaze powder and a slimeball, which is usually easier because both are farmable in the Overworld and the Nether respectively. The crafted route means a slime farm in a swamp or a slime chunk pays for itself in Fire Resistance. Brew in threes: one magma cream fuels three bottles at once, so a single cream is three trips' worth of protection. Nothing changes how the Nether feels as sharply as eight minutes of immunity to it.

- Extend Fire Resistance to 8 minutes with redstone dust before a debris trip rather than brewing more creams.
- Slimeballs come from swamp slimes at night and from slime chunks below Y 40 — a farm makes cream renewable.
