Overview
Red Carpet is one of the 16 variants of White Carpet: same recipe, same hardness, same drops — only the look differs. The full write-up for the set is on the White Carpet page.
Red Carpet counts as a coloured block in Minecraft 1.21.4. A crafting table turns its ingredients into Red Carpet. It breaks almost instantly, with a hardness of just 0.1.
You can break it by hand without losing the drop. It drops as the same block you mined. With a blast resistance of only 0.1 it will not survive an explosion.
Sixty-four fit in one inventory slot. The recipe calls for Red Wool. It is not used in any crafting recipe.
About the red set
Properties
With 0.1 blast resistance Red Carpet goes down to any nearby explosion. It is fully opaque and produces no light. Stack size is 64 — the standard full stack. Fire takes to it quickly — encouragement 60, burn 20 — which makes it a poor neighbour for lava or a lit campfire. As furnace fuel it burns for 3.4 seconds — 0.3 smelting operations.
