Overview
Gray Carpet is one of the 16 variants of White Carpet: same recipe, same hardness, same drops — only the look differs. The full write-up for the set is on the White Carpet page.
In Minecraft 1.21.4, Gray Carpet is a coloured block. A crafting table turns its ingredients into Gray Carpet. It breaks almost instantly, with a hardness of just 0.1.
You can break it by hand without losing the drop. It drops as the same block you mined. With a blast resistance of only 0.1 it will not survive an explosion.
Sixty-four fit in one inventory slot. The recipe calls for Gray Wool. It is not used in any crafting recipe.
About the gray set
Properties
Gray Carpet resists blasts at 0.1, which is not enough to survive anything explosive nearby. Light does not pass through it, and it emits none of its own. 64 fit in a slot — a full stack. Flammable, at encouragement 60 and burn 20: build with it away from lava, and do not use it as a wall you care about. As furnace fuel it burns for 3.4 seconds — 0.3 smelting operations.
