Overview

Crimson Door is one of the 14 variants of this shape in the game. What changes between them is the material, and with it the hardness, the drops, the durability and the recipe — so every figure on this page is this variant's own. Oak Door is the same shape in a different material.

Minecraft classifies Crimson Door as a Nether block. Crimson Door has a crafting recipe, so it is renewable as long as you can source its ingredients. At a hardness of 3 it takes a moment to break but never slows a build down.

Broken correctly, it drops itself. Because it is transparent it does not block light. A full stack holds 64.

It is crafted from Crimson Planks. Nothing on the crafting grid is made from it.

About the crimson set

Crimson is not wood at all — it is fungus, harvested from the huge crimson fungi that grow on nylium in the crimson forest — and that biology gives the whole set its defining property: crimson blocks are completely fireproof. They will not burn, fire will not spread across them, and lava will not set them alight, which makes crimson and warped the only sensible building materials anywhere near lava or in the Nether generally. The set covers planks, stairs, slabs, fences, gates, doors, trapdoors, signs, hanging signs, buttons and pressure plates, but there is no crimson boat, because a stem is not a log. Crimson stems strip with an axe like a log and the planks are a deep maroon-red found nowhere else. Bone meal on crimson nylium grows a new huge fungus instantly, so the set is fully renewable from one nylium block.

How long it takes to break

At a hardness of 3, Crimson Door takes 4.5 seconds to punch out and 0.5 seconds with a netherite-tier tool of the correct class.

You are looking at 0.75 seconds on iron and 0.6 on diamond — the iron step is where the time actually falls.

The drop does not depend on the tool — bare hands work as well as anything — so the table below is purely about speed.

Blast resistance on Crimson Door is 3, so an explosion nearby will usually take it out. It lets light pass and gives off no light. Stack size is 64 — the standard full stack.
