Overview

Acacia Stairs is one of the 30 variants of this shape in the game. What changes between them is the material, and with it the hardness, the drops, the durability and the recipe — so every figure on this page is this variant's own. Oak Stairs is the same shape in a different material.

Acacia Stairs is a building block in Minecraft Java Edition 1.21.4. A crafting table turns its ingredients into Acacia Stairs. Its hardness of 2 makes it a normal, unhurried block to mine.

Mining it returns the block itself, so it is safe to relocate. A full stack holds 64. It is crafted from Acacia Planks.

Nothing on the crafting grid is made from it.

About the acacia set

Acacia is the orange wood, and it is the only one — no other tree in Minecraft produces planks in that colour, which is why acacia turns up in builds that need warmth without going red. It grows only in savanna and savanna plateau, on a trunk that leans diagonally under a flat spreading canopy, so felling one leaves floating log segments unless you cut from the top down. The set is the standard twelve-piece one: planks, stairs, slabs, fences, fence gates, doors, trapdoors, signs, hanging signs, buttons, pressure plates and a boat, all sharing a hardness of 2, a blast resistance of 3, and the same recipes as every other wood. Remember that savanna never rains, so an acacia build has no natural fire protection at all — keep lava, campfires and furnaces well away from it, or add a lightning rod.

How long it takes to break

Hardness 2 puts Acacia Stairs at 3 seconds a block bare-handed, or 0.35 seconds with the right tool at netherite tier.

An iron tool takes 0.5 seconds and a diamond one 0.4, so the jump that actually matters for this block is the one to iron.

No particular tool tier is required: any tool, or none at all, still yields the drop, so the table below is about speed rather than about whether you get anything.

Efficiency contributes its level squared plus one to tool speed, which makes Efficiency V roughly 3.5 times faster than the plain tool.

Properties

Acacia Stairs resists blasts at 3, which usually is not enough when something explodes nearby. Light does not pass through it, and it emits none of its own. One inventory slot holds 64, the normal full stack. It catches easily (encouragement 5, burn 20), so keep lava and open flame well away from it and from anything next to it. An axe is fastest here; any other class mines it at bare-hand speed, because the bonus only applies to the class the block is tagged for. As furnace fuel it burns for 15 seconds — one and a half smelting operations.
