Acacia Button

Overview

Acacia Button is one of the 13 variants of this shape in the game. What changes between them is the material, and with it the hardness, the drops, the durability and the recipe — so every figure on this page is this variant's own. Oak Button is the same shape in a different material.

Acacia Button is a redstone block in Minecraft Java Edition 1.21.4. A crafting table turns its ingredients into Acacia Button. It breaks almost instantly, with a hardness of just 0.5.

You can break it by hand without losing the drop. It drops as the same block you mined. Light passes through it, so it will not darken the space behind it.

It offers almost no protection from explosions (0.5 blast resistance). A full stack holds 64. It is crafted from Acacia Planks.

Nothing on the crafting grid is made from it.

About the acacia set

Acacia is the orange wood, and it is the only one — no other tree in Minecraft produces planks in that colour, which is why acacia turns up in builds that need warmth without going red. It grows only in savanna and savanna plateau, on a trunk that leans diagonally under a flat spreading canopy, so felling one leaves floating log segments unless you cut from the top down. The set is the standard twelve-piece one: planks, stairs, slabs, fences, fence gates, doors, trapdoors, signs, hanging signs, buttons, pressure plates and a boat, all sharing a hardness of 2, a blast resistance of 3, and the same recipes as every other wood. Remember that savanna never rains, so an acacia build has no natural fire protection at all — keep lava, campfires and furnaces well away from it, or add a lightning rod.

How long it takes to break

Acacia Button has a hardness of 0.5. By hand that is 0.75 seconds per block; with the correct tool at netherite tier it is 0.1 seconds.

Iron manages 0.15 seconds and diamond 0.1, which makes diamond the tier that changes how this block feels.

Nothing here needs a minimum tier: whatever you swing, the block still drops, and the only difference is how long it takes.

Efficiency adds its level squared plus one to the tool speed, so Efficiency V is about 2 times faster than the same tool unenchanted.

Properties

Blast resistance on Acacia Button is 0.5, so any explosion nearby takes it out. It lets light pass and gives off no light. 64 fit in a slot — a full stack. The block is tagged for axes, and only that class gets the speed bonus; everything else mines at bare-hand rate. As furnace fuel it burns for 15 seconds — one and a half smelting operations.
