Resin Brick Slab

Overview

Resin Brick Slab is one of the 30 variants of this shape in the game. What changes between them is the material, and with it the hardness, the drops, the durability and the recipe — so every figure on this page is this variant's own. Oak Slab is the same shape in a different material.

In Minecraft 1.21.4, Resin Brick Slab is a building block. Resin Brick Slab is made at a crafting table. Hardness 1.5 puts it in the middle of the pack for mining speed.

Mine it with a wooden pickaxe or better, or you get no drop at all. Broken correctly, it drops itself. Sixty-four fit in one inventory slot.

The recipe calls for Resin Bricks. A stonecutter can cut it straight from Resin Bricks, with nothing wasted. It goes into exactly one recipe: Chiseled Resin Bricks.

How long it takes to break

Resin Brick Slab has a hardness of 1.5. By hand that is 7.5 seconds per block; with the correct tool at netherite tier it is 0.25 seconds.

An iron tool takes 0.4 seconds and a diamond one 0.3, so the jump that actually matters for this block is the one to diamond.

A weaker tool still breaks it, but anything under wooden returns nothing — you spend the time and lose the drop, which is how most veins get wasted.

Each Efficiency level adds level² + 1 to the tool's speed, so a level V tool clears this about 2.5 times faster than an unenchanted one.

Properties

Blast resistance on Resin Brick Slab is 6, so an explosion nearby will usually take it out. It stops light entirely and gives off no light. A single slot takes 64, the usual full stack. A pickaxe is the fastest choice here. A tool of the wrong class is no better than your fist — the speed bonus is tied to the block's own tool tag.
