Overview
Minecraft classifies Warped Fungus as a Nether block. There is no way to craft it; you have to find it and mine it. It breaks almost instantly, with a hardness of just 0.
You can break it by hand without losing the drop. It drops as the same block you mined. Light passes through it, so it will not darken the space behind it.
It offers almost no protection from explosions (0 blast resistance). A full stack holds 64. Its only crafting use is Warped Fungus on a Stick.
About the warped set
How long it takes to break
At a hardness of 0, Warped Fungus takes 0 seconds to punch out and 0 seconds with a netherite-tier tool of the correct class.
The drop does not depend on the tool — bare hands work as well as anything — so the table below is purely about speed.
The Efficiency formula is level² + 1 added to tool speed, which on a block this soft tips over into instant mining very early.
| Tool | No enchantment | Efficiency III | Efficiency V |
|---|---|---|---|
| Hand | instant | instant | instant |
| Wooden | instant | instant | instant |
| Stone | instant | instant | instant |
| Iron | instant | instant | instant |
| Diamond | instant | instant | instant |
| Netherite | instant | instant | instant |
| Golden | instant | instant | instant |
Properties
Blast resistance on Warped Fungus is 0, so any explosion nearby takes it out. It lets light pass and gives off no light. A single slot takes 64, the usual full stack. The block is tagged for axes, and only that class gets the speed bonus; everything else mines at bare-hand rate.
