Overview
Shroomlight is the Nether's soft light source: an orange fungal block that grows in the canopies of huge crimson and warped fungi and gives off light level 15, the same as glowstone and a torch. Its two advantages over glowstone are practical. It always drops itself when broken, with no Silk Touch needed and no dust-shattering loss, which makes gathering it far less annoying. And it is renewable — bone meal on crimson or warped nylium grows a new huge fungus, and huge fungi generate shroomlight in their caps, so a fungus farm at home produces light indefinitely without another Nether trip. A hoe is the fastest tool for it. Visually it is warmer and softer than glowstone, which is why it turns up so often in organic and fantasy builds, and it pairs naturally with the crimson and warped wood sets that come from the same trees. It has no crafting uses at all, which keeps it purely a light and building block, and it is not affected by water or by piston movement. It also fits neatly into a build's ceiling because it is a full block rather than an attached fixture.
