Overview
Kelp Plant is an underwater block in Minecraft Java Edition 1.21.4. It cannot be obtained in Survival — it exists for Creative mode and commands. A hardness of 0 means it is one of the quicker blocks to clear.
No specific tool is required to collect it. Instead of dropping itself it yields Kelp. Because it is transparent it does not block light.
A blast resistance of 0 means a single creeper will clear it away. It is not used in any crafting recipe.
Properties
Kelp Plant has a blast resistance of 0, so any explosion nearby destroys it. It lets light through and emits no light of its own. Broken normally it drops Kelp rather than itself; Silk Touch is what returns the block, and Fortune raises the ordinary drop instead.
