Minecraft classifies Exposed Copper Bulb as a building block. Exposed Copper Bulb is made at a crafting table. Hardness 3 puts it in the middle of the pack for mining speed.

Mine it with a stone pickaxe or better, or you get no drop at all. Broken correctly, it drops itself. Sixty-four fit in one inventory slot.

The recipe calls for Exposed Copper, Blaze Rod, and Redstone Dust. Its only crafting use is Waxed Exposed Copper Bulb.

How long it takes to break

Hardness 3 puts Exposed Copper Bulb at 15 seconds a block bare-handed, or 0.5 seconds with the right tool at netherite tier.

You are looking at 0.75 seconds on iron and 0.6 on diamond — the iron step is where the time actually falls.

The block still breaks with a weaker tool, but below stone it yields nothing at all — the time is spent and the drop is lost, which is the single most common way players waste a vein.

Properties

Exposed Copper Bulb has a blast resistance of 6, so a nearby explosion will usually destroy it. It blocks light completely and emits no light of its own. A single slot takes 64, the usual full stack. A pickaxe is fastest here; any other class mines it at bare-hand speed, because the bonus only applies to the class the block is tagged for.
