Overview
Damaged Anvil counts as a functional block in Minecraft 1.21.4. It is gathered by mining rather than crafted. At hardness 5 this is one of the tougher blocks in the game.
It needs at least a wooden pickaxe to drop anything; a weaker tool destroys it for nothing. Mining it returns the block itself, so it is safe to relocate. At 1,200 blast resistance it is a genuinely blast-proof building material.
It stacks to 64. Nothing on the crafting grid is made from it.
