Overview
Carrots counts as a plant block in Minecraft 1.21.4. It cannot be obtained in Survival — it exists for Creative mode and commands. A hardness of 0 means it is one of the quicker blocks to clear.
No specific tool is required to collect it. Instead of dropping itself it yields Carrot. Because it is transparent it does not block light.
A blast resistance of 0 means a single creeper will clear it away. It is not used in any crafting recipe.

Carrots has a blast resistance of 0, so any explosion nearby destroys it. It lets light through and emits no light of its own. An axe is fastest here; any other class mines it at bare-hand speed, because the bonus only applies to the class the block is tagged for. Broken normally it drops Carrot rather than itself; Silk Touch is what returns the block, and Fortune raises the ordinary drop instead.
