Bamboo Mosaic — Minecraft block

Overview

In Minecraft 1.21.4, Bamboo Mosaic is a plant block. Bamboo Mosaic is made at a crafting table. Hardness 2 puts it in the middle of the pack for mining speed.

It drops as the same block you mined. It stacks to 64. You make it with Bamboo Slab.

Its crafting uses are Bamboo Mosaic Slab and Bamboo Mosaic Stairs.

About the bamboo set

How long it takes to break

Bamboo Mosaic has a hardness of 2. By hand that is 3 seconds per block; with the correct tool at netherite tier it is 0.35 seconds.

An iron tool takes 0.5 seconds and a diamond one 0.4, so the jump that actually matters for this block is the one to iron.

The drop does not depend on the tool — bare hands work as well as anything — so the table below is purely about speed.

Efficiency adds its level squared plus one to the tool speed, so Efficiency V is about 3.5 times faster than the same tool unenchanted.

Tool	No enchantment	Efficiency III	Efficiency V
Hand	3 s	3 s	3 s
Wooden	1.5 s	0.25 s	0.15 s
Stone	0.75 s	0.25 s	0.1 s
Iron	0.5 s	0.2 s	0.1 s
Diamond	0.4 s	0.2 s	0.1 s
Netherite	0.35 s	0.2 s	0.1 s
Golden	0.25 s	0.15 s	0.1 s

Properties

Bamboo Mosaic has a blast resistance of 3, so a nearby explosion will usually destroy it. It blocks light completely and emits no light of its own. 64 fit in a slot — a full stack. It is renewable, so one world can supply as much of it as you want. The fastest tool for it is an axe; any other kind of tool mines it no faster than a bare hand does, because the speed bonus only applies to the tool class the block is tagged for. As furnace fuel it burns for 15 seconds — one and a half smelting operations.
