It can only be placed on the underside of a solid block, never on a floor or a wall, and once placed it constantly emits drifting green spore particles that fall several blocks below it, filling a room with slow ambient motion. That particle effect is why builders use it: nothing else in Minecraft creates that kind of living atmosphere in an interior, and a single blossom transforms a plain cave room. It generates only in lush caves, hanging above the moss and the clay pools, and it is collected simply by breaking it — no shears, no Silk Touch, any tool or your hand returns the item. It cannot be grown, bone-mealed or duplicated, so the number in your world is fixed by generation, which makes each one worth collecting when you find it rather than leaving behind.
