Red Mushroom Block — Minecraft block

Overview

Red Mushroom Block counts as a plant block in Minecraft 1.21.4. A hardness of 0.2 means it is one of the quicker blocks to clear. No specific tool is required to collect it.

With a blast resistance of only 0.2 it will not survive an explosion. Sixty-four fit in one inventory slot. No recipe takes it as an ingredient.

About the red set

How long it takes to break

Red Mushroom Block has a hardness of 0.2. By hand that is 0.3 seconds per block; with the correct tool at netherite tier it is 0.05 seconds.

No particular tool tier is required: any tool, or none at all, still yields the drop, so the table below is about speed rather than about whether you get anything.

Efficiency contributes its level squared plus one to tool speed, and on something this soft that reaches instant mining almost at once.

Tool	No enchantment	Efficiency III	Efficiency V
Hand	0.3 s	0.3 s	0.3 s
Wooden	0.15 s	instant	instant
Stone	0.1 s	instant	instant
Iron	instant	instant	instant
Diamond	instant	instant	instant
Netherite	instant	instant	instant
Golden	instant	instant	instant

Properties

Red Mushroom Block has a blast resistance of 0.2, so any explosion nearby destroys it. It blocks light completely and emits no light of its own. Stack size is 64 — the standard full stack. An axe is fastest here; any other class mines it at bare-hand speed, because the bonus only applies to the class the block is tagged for.
