Cracked Nether Bricks counts as a Nether block in Minecraft 1.21.4. Its hardness of 2 makes it a normal, unhurried block to mine. Anything below a wooden pickaxe breaks it without leaving a drop.

It drops as the same block you mined. It stacks to 64. A furnace turns Nether Bricks into it.

No recipe takes it as an ingredient.

How long it takes to break

At a hardness of 2, Cracked Nether Bricks takes 10 seconds to punch out and 0.35 seconds with a netherite-tier tool of the correct class.

Iron takes 0.5 seconds against diamond's 0.4, so the upgrade worth making for this block is the one to iron.

The block still breaks with a weaker tool, but below wooden it yields nothing at all — the time is spent and the drop is lost, which is the single most common way players waste a vein.

The Efficiency formula is level² + 1 added to tool speed — at V that is about 3.5 times the unenchanted rate.

Properties

Blast resistance on Cracked Nether Bricks is 6, so an explosion nearby will usually take it out. It stops light entirely and gives off no light. A single slot takes 64, the usual full stack. A pickaxe is fastest here; any other class mines it at bare-hand speed, because the bonus only applies to the class the block is tagged for.
